New world: turn on ‘Allow Cheats’ (Bedrock) or choose Creative / enable cheats (Java) at world creation. Existing world: Java — open to LAN with cheats enabled; Bedrock — enable cheats in world settings (this disables achievements).
Open chat with T (or /) and type the command.
On Bedrock, enabling cheats in a world permanently disables achievements for that world. On Java, achievements (advancements) still work with cheats on.
Most basic commands are identical, but selectors, NBT data, and some syntax differ. The commands on this page work on both unless noted.
Use /tp [player] [target] — e.g. /tp Steve Alex teleports Steve to Alex. Coordinates work too: /tp Steve 100 65 100.
Cheats aren’t enabled in your world, you’re on a server without permission, or there’s a typo. Check spelling and permissions first.
