How to use RDR2 cheats
Open Settings → Cheats and select ‘Enter cheat’. Type the newspaper phrase exactly (capitalization doesn’t matter). Most cheats unlock permanently once entered — but using any cheat disables saving and trophies until you reload.
Best cheats to unlock first
- Greed is now a virtue: $500 — requires a newspaper purchase first.
- A simple life, a beautiful death: every weapon without the cost.
- You flourish before you die: full bars for tough fights.
RDR2 Cheats FAQs
Do RDR2 cheats disable trophies?
Yes — activating any cheat disables autosaving and trophies/achievements until you reload a save. Cheat on a separate save.
Why can’t I enter a cheat phrase?
Some cheats require buying a specific newspaper first (e.g. ‘Greed is now a virtue’ needs one). The game tells you which newspaper when you try.
Do cheats work in Red Dead Online?
No — cheats are story-mode only and don’t exist in Red Dead Online.
Are cheat phrases case-sensitive?
No. Type them in any case — just get the words right.
